Troubleshooting the installation

System using UDMA mode hangs during installation

With certain combinations of hard disk and motherboard, the installation might hang if Ultra Direct Memory Access (UDMA) mode is turned on.

To avoid this problem, start the installation by typing the following bootstring at the boot prompt:

defbootstr wd.udma=off
