Basic hardware configuration

Supported architecture

Except where otherwise noted, the hardware information in this book applies to the PC bus architectures supported by SCO OpenServer: Industry Standard Architecture (ISA), Extended Industry Standard Architecture (EISA), Micro Channel Architecture (MCA), Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI), and Universal Serial Bus (USB). SCO OpenServer systems support a number of PC Cards, including PCMCIA (Personal Computer Memory Card Interface Association) and CardBus devices.

In addition to the specific devices mentioned here, there are many others that require additional vendor supplied software. These are available from, and supported by, independent hardware vendors. See also the SCO Certified and Compatible Hardware web page.
