To configure a default route using the Client Manager:
If a default route is already configured, click on Default route in the services listed, and then select Services Modify.
To delete a default route, click on Default route in the services listed, and then select Services Delete.
Enter any desired initial values for route metrics in the
Default Route Options field. Available metrics are
listed in the
manual page, and must be entered as keyword and
value inside double-quotes. For example:
"-hopcount 1 -mtu 1500"
Default route options can only be entered if a gateway address exists. It is not required to set default route options; if none are specified, no metrics are applied to the default route.
In the Sync Route Info? screen, click on OK for the new default route to take effect when the Client Manager exits; click on Cancel for changes to take effect at the next TCP/IP restart.
The runtime default route is not sychronized until the Client Manager exits.
