Format

entry fileroot section

Description

The man command uses a manual page index to find the file which contains the manual page for a given entry. The pathname of the file relative to the location of the index is constructed from the fileroot and the section name. For SCO-supplied manual pages in HTML format, the pathname is:

./html.section/fileroot.section.html

For manual pages that have been formatted using nroff, the pathname is:

./cat.section/fileroot.section
