dnvt allows network and system administrators to
monitor connections to an NVT server. For every
connection to the server, the following information is
displayed:
Client Name/Address
Client's host name or IPX address.
By default, IPX addresses are mapped
to host names by polling the local SAP daemon.
This mapping can be disabled using the -n
option.
Sequence#
Current packet sequence number in use for the connection.
Retries
Number of retries for the current packet.
This value should always be zero,
unless the client has gone down or the network
connection has been lost.
KeepAlives
Number of NVT keep-alive packets currently
outstanding to the client. This value is
usually zero. However, if the client is idle,
it will alternate between zero and one.
